Every year, I always look forward to the holiday season because it means I get to entertain family and friends at home. But who’s kidding…we all know hosting can be as overwhelming as it is fun. Intensive prep work and costly grocery bills, plus a dash of unexpected guests and a pinch of messy cleanup? Hello, stress. To ease the pressure, I’ve rounded up three simple Cadence Kitchen recipe hacks to make some hassle-free, delicious appetizers for your guests.

Cheesy Macaroni Balls


Bite-sized fried balls of the ultimate comfort food? What’s not to love! Heat up our Four Cheese Mac & Cheese and then let it cool in the refrigerator in a single layer. Meanwhile, organize your wet and dry ingredients for frying. Make an egg wash in a shallow dish and a mixture of flour, panko, and parmesan in another. Once the Mac & Cheese is fully cool, make small balls with your hands or an ice cream scoop. Coat them in the egg wash and then the dry mixture. Fry until golden brown.
Using individual serving boats or a larger plate, place a fried ball on top of a spoonful of marinara sauce. Top with a little more sauce, some sprinkled parmesan, and a bit of basil. Add a skewer and you’re good to go! 

Chicken Marsala Meatballs 


Our Marsala Meatballs are an elegant and flavorful option that instantly thaw that winter chill. 
To start, we’ll use our Chicken Marsala Meatballs, which cook in only fifteen minutes. The accompanying marsala sauce is made with cream, brown sauce, herbs, and spices.
Plate each appetizer with the meatball first, topped with one of the mushrooms. Add a spoonful of the Marsala sauce over the meatball and finish with some parsley. Don’t forget the skewer for easy eating!

Patatas Bravas


This fantastic recipe transforms our roasted potatoes into the classic Spanish treat! 
Start by heating up our Roasted Potatoes. Make sure they’re nice and crispy and have some great color. Plate them together in a shallow bowl. 
You’ll be complementing the potatoes with marinara and garlic aioli sauces. The marinara can be homemade or store-bought and for the aioli, feel free to take a hi-quality mayonnaise and add fresh lemon juice and granulated or roasted garlic.
Spoon a generous amount of marina over the potatoes and follow with the aioli. Finish with some sprinkled herbs of your choice and enjoy!

It’s a no-brainer. Why worry about supermarket lists and prep time when you can serve up some tasty appetizers that are time-efficient and cost-effective. Don’t let the stress of holiday entertaining get you down! I hope that these hacks can put your hosting worries at ease and make more room for enjoying a glass of wine (or two) with loved ones.
