We’ve all been in this situation: after a long day, nothing feels more urgent and necessary than some takeout. It’s a quick and easy fix that comforts with big, satisfying flavors. Come to think of it, many of my favorite comfort foods are found in takeout containers! How about a beef pho that elevates the soul? Or a sweat-inducing stir fry? Even the most simple and ordinary pizza can be transcendent.
It’s been a mission of mine to develop dishes with bold, comforting flavors, made with the best ingredients, and able to be quickly prepared without the stress of cooking from scratch.
Case in point is our Chicken Stir Fry. Our mouth-watering take on the classic dish has salty, sweet, and spicy flavors singing in perfect harmony. I use a Kung Pao-Soy blend that coats the tender chicken, crunchy veggies, and earthy cashews. Trade out that takeout container! Take a break from the lengthy prep work and a laundry list of ingredients needed for stir-frying at home. Our stir fry is ready to go in less than 10 minutes!
Our Cashew Chicken packs a nutritional punch too. We don’t use any artificial sweeteners and this one is lactose-free too. With each serving only containing 150 calories, you can enjoy it without feeling guilty the next day!
If you’re looking for a great pairing, our Chinese Style BBQ Pork Fried Rice will do the trick! Or take a simpler route and serve on top of some steamed jasmine rice. Complement with a buttery Chardonnay or a malty pilsner and you’ll be good to go.
One of my favorite hacks for our Chicken Stir Fry is to serve over noodles. I like using thick rice noodles, like the ones used for Pad Thai, but glass or wheat will also work. Boil your noodles separately and divide them into portions placed in the base of a bowl. Top your noodles with the stir fry and the critical garnishes. I take inspiration from Southeast Asian cuisine and use thinly sliced shallots, jalapenos, mint, and basil. Add a poached egg for that extra “wow” factor and you’re set!
